Random thoughts of a Conspiracy of Extraordinary Proportions

Freewrite:

I was reading the third book of Ender's Saga called "Xenocide."  I've got only about 200ish pages to read.  Near the end it's got me thinking though.

What if everything we read, or think or feel about something is only implantations by someone else? Like, what if someone else wants us to think or feel a certain way? What if every book we read, is a manifestation of our own thoughts and feelings, and that's why if you read the same book 10 years later everything about it is different. Everything you feel or think about that book is different than it was the first time around.  It's because we are all changing isn't it? We never stay the same, no matter what we continue to evolve.

What of evolution then? Right now we are living in a technological society.  The older of us have difficulties adapting.  Me, I have a hard time sometimes understanding what's happening, because I've just been so blinded to the idea of it.  Technology isn't something we do, it's something we adapt to.  It's become part of us as a society.  Children these days, ages 2 or 3, sometimes even 1 year olds already know how to use cellphones, applications...It has become so close apart of us that we can't live without it.  I can't live without my phone or my computer.  I wish I could. It's become the norm to have them, and we can't stop using them because we'd lose touch in ways we use to be close without them.  How did all of this happen?

I wasn't here for all of this transitioning.  I'm only caught up in the midst of it.  Just as every younger generation who can pick up technology at 1 years of age and know exactly how to use it, as if our ancestors DNA has combined with our own, and with it, memories are shared, linking each and every one of us to each other.

Where is all this coming from?  I'm starting to fear my own thoughts, my own understandings.  If anyone could see the world as I do, with these eyes, this mind, this vision of what truly is....could anyone else handle the stress of it?  The terror of it?  Is it truly something to be afraid of, this evolution?  Maybe it's just the way it's suppose to be.  Like maybe it's a form of terraforming as "Xenocide" points out about the descolada.  Just getting the world ready for what's to come, a great alien species making us adapt so that they have the control, some kind of gods aren't they?

If something seems so insane it can't possibly be true, it must be true.  So then perhaps alien species do exist that wish to terraform this planet and make us slaves to themselves, having us do as the wish.  There's many rebellious teens who don't wish to conform to the norms of society, but it's become an inescapable thing.  One and each of us must conform.  We must live underneath the hand of god or The Man.  The Man and these Gods are one in the shame aren't they?

What of other conspiracies?  What about Phillip K. Dicks missing stories that got stolen from his vault? What was he writing about?  Did they change his thoughts, steal his ideas so he couldn't rewrite them because they were so close to the truth and people weren't really ready for them?

Maybe we weren't yet at the phase of accepting that, but the farther we get into this, the smarter we become, at least some of us, the more of a danger we become to the form, to the terraforming form they desire of us, of our planet.  Did something happen to thier own planet? Are they just a species who desires to expand to every habitable planet?  Is our planet just one of thousands, maybe millions of planets just able to be habited in all the universes?  Can they travel across multiverses? Can they travel through time?  Are we the past, or are we the future?  Did they make a mistake? Maybe they are trying to fix their mistakes by terraforming on planets of the past in various multiverses just simply so their species can survive. Perhaps our species annihilated them in their future and they've come back to change everything.  If they can control us, instead of us controlling ourselves then they have won.  We have lost this simple battle because we've lost the ability to think for ourselves.

Anyways, this is just a random ramble of things that develop within my mind. Just wanted to write something out in hopes it'll get me back into the rhythm of writing.

Reality, or just a Dream?

So everybody whose pretty much anybody has played a video game at some point in their lives. Many people are consumed by them on a daily basis myself included...That is when my schedule has any kind of leisure time.

Where are games going?

What I'm really talking about is this. How realistic can video games get before a person is actually back to playing reality? Developers keep desperately trying to get more realistic with games, but the only way a game can truly get that realistic play is if one actually gets back to reality. It'll be like playing marbles or having a water balloon fight, but more overpriced. People may not realize what they're actually paying for. I think a lot of people get into things, and stay with them for so long that though they change, people don't notice. The changes though dramatic, are unseen.

We've already had 'sort of' video reality  games...Simon for instance, okay so its not really 'video,' but it has bright lights. That's pretty old school for interactive gaming. I wonder if we can look forward to more video related games like Simon, but more advanced. Maybe something more along the lines of Tron. It's funny to think our future might be something like Tron, it's also kind of exciting to think about.

I'd love it if games stay'd right where they are, but technology is always moving forward. Although, I can't deny that I'm curious about what's in store for games.

I leave you with a quote from my friend Jaime: "If we wanted to play real life we would go outside."

Art - The Importance of Art in Games

Since the near beginning of game creation, art has been a significant factor, of course, some games are text based; most games require a graphical interface. All graphical games have backgrounds and characters. Without sketches, the games of today would be non-existent.
I'm not here to talk about text-based games, I'm here to talk about games with graphical interfaces. From the original Frogger on Atari, to Halo on the xbox 360, we know that graphics are as significant as the game-play and storyline. Though the graphics of Frogger have long since been passed by games like Gears of War and Call of Duty, for it's time it was something amazing. Graphics are constantly getting better; vast landscaping and character stylizing has revolutionized gaming. For many years I'd fought the gaming graphic transition; I was stuck with my love of 2d gaming, but find I am now succumbing to the transition.
Without extensive backgrounds and character skins, games would be nothing but dialog. We've been able to see the graphical change in games over the past 20 or so years. From the basic graphics of pong, to the intense graphics contained in Halo. We can see that backgrounds have more significance than before. Landscapes make up a good majority in games these days, especially with how we interact with the surroundings. The designs have gone from black and white to a vast array of colors. Graphics have gone from the flat 1d and 2d landscapes to landscapes in 3d. Though we still have a long way to go, we can see that gaming will eventually reach full 3d realism. Games like World of Warcraft have shown us that we desire more options, clothing, weapons and landscapes, it's what keeps us entertained.
Without the the artists and design teams creating the conceptual drawings for the new games, we wouldn't have them. I've always been a fan of art, from comics to the latest in games. I feel that the conceptual artists behind the creation of games don't get nearly enough credit for the many long hours they put into the creation of landscapes and character designs. I doubt most of the people playing the hot new games care, or even take the time to think for a second, how much work goes into the design of those games. Even many of my friends feel that the designers are lazy, but they seem to forget how much work goes into the creation of games. I once recall watching something about the conceptual designs that went into Megaman, also widely known as Rockman. Without the first sketches for Megaman, he wouldn't look as he does, and wouldn't play the same either. Even the design teams for standalone games, should be recognized for their efforts, even if their games weren't so successful.
Without the efforts of the design teams, I wouldn't have played as many games as I have. I'm thankful for all of you amazing artists out there who took the time of your lives to create games, regardless of how well they've sold. Keep up the good work guys and gals!

Change

I know this technically wasn't on the original topics list, so what? I've added it. I just felt the need to express something within this.

So without further ado...

---

Change? Does it happen?

Growing up, we might not notice the changes that take affect, but the people around us might, unless it's a very subtle change. I've been sitting here contemplating this concept. I'm not sure why, it just came to me.

I've come to realize that I have changed. I'm not the same person I use to be. I try harder to control my feelings and stay content with my life, as opposed to my childhood self who succumbed to the darkness. As a child, my whole life was all about video games and friends, and just having a good time outside on a hot day. Now? I hardly go outside, I don't exercise as much as I should, among other things. Is this what it means to be an adult? To finally grasp that the worlds not black and white. The woman whose just fighting to find a way to survive, just like everyone else, but in her own way. It's a struggle, and even now it's not an easy one. I hope some day I find that path, the one I'm meant to be on, but as for now, I guess I just have to sit waiting for the answer.

Love, the only concept that still exists through age and wisdom; but with a more realistic thought as opposed to a truly fantasy world. After all, nobody wants to be alone.

Have I changed? Mostly. But is my kind and gentleness still in existence? I'd like to think so, apart from slight lapsing in between.

Change, I wonder if we all go through it, or if only some of us must journey through quicksand. Can some people slide through life without feeling the tugs that life brings?

Video Games

I guess it's a good time for me to talk about video games since I've been playing them a lot lately. Does anyone else notice how addicting some games are?

I've been playing the first Halo game again and I find no matter how many times I beat it, I still love slaughtering those Covenant! Even on Legendary it's still fun to play through, though a bit more difficult. I can go on and on about FPS that I enjoy. Tribes, Tribes Vengeance, UT, UT 2k4, Half-life, Wolf Team....Yeah lets just say I like FPS. Nothing is more satisfactory than blowing shit up in a FPS. Not to mention headshots. Boom. ;)

I've been playing a lot of Dungeon Fighter Online(which is a game run by Nexon). I did take some breaks in between for a couple of days to get some other stuff done but I started playing again yesterday. A new patch for the game is going to come out on the 15th and I discovered I have a lot of work to do before it does. For those of you who don't know, DFO is a side scrolling MMORPG and it's freaking awesome. This game is so addicting, that if I open the game with the intent of only checking my auctions, I just have to play it. The urge just takes me.

Are games good? I hear they aren't the worst thing ever, though I guess if all you do is sit on your butt and play them, it could be bad for your health...They've been telling us these days it's not good to sit all day, it can cause heart attacks. How am I going to play my games if I'm not sitting all day? Haha. I love games too much when I get into them. I get lost in them and forget the world, I guess that's when it's a matter of addiction.

Have you guys ever gotten addicted to a game? I know a lot of people who've gotten addicted to WOW. I played it until my trial ran out, and I played it all day everyday. It wasn't really that the games addictive, it's more or less that I wanted to feel like I accomplished some goals in the game, completing quests. That's the part that's most addictive in MMORPG'S.

It's not as if I'm playing by myself either. I can't stand to play games by myself unless it's something like Halo on Single-Player mode(even then I'd prefer Co-op if I could get it)...But as far as online games go, I always play with my best friend. Without him, I don't think I could tolerate most games for very long. It's a nice way to connect with someone.

That's all I can really think of, to say about games at this time. If you have any comments, questions, something else you'd like to know as far as games are related, please comment!

Friendships

Before I begin, I'd like to say that this post will be the positive sides of friendship. I don't feel it necessary to go into the negative areas. We all know that people can't always get along.

Friends, everyone needs them, though some people claim they are completely content alone. Really, it's human nature for us to need one another and I feel that friendships are very important to living.

When things feel like they are falling apart, it's always nice to have someone to tell things to. Keeping things inside has been known to be very unhealthy. Also, you never know who might understand your situation and be able to offer kind words of advice. It's important to have someone you can trust and that's where friends come into play, after all, most people can't tell their families everything.

Without my friends, I don't know where I'd be some days. I hardly see my real life friends, but when I do, I cherish the moments we spend together like it could be the last time I see them even though it may not be. We have great times telling each other things, giving each other advice...You know, the great things about friendships, like laughing and having a great time. Laughter keeps you healthier and friends are good for that. :) I communicate with most of my friends through the internet, which is just as well. You can talk about your feelings, and still have a really good time through chat discussion. I have a few friends on the internet that I even play games with. It helps me to feel less lonely on the long hard days when everything feels like it's tearing me apart.

So, whether it be real life friends or just internet buddies, it's still nice to have them around. It's great to have friends who can understand you and share with you moments that can never be replaced. Let us continue to make friends and continue to share moments that make us feel happier, so that we may live healthier lives.

Make friends, be good to each other, and love one another as friends should!

Religion

I've seen numerous blogs of people that dedicate life to religion. I feel that life is about so much more than religion and that we should dedicate our lives to each other, not to just a belief in something that may or may not be real. This is a topic that cannot be proven true, nor false, no matter what anyone tells you. I do believe that we can apply some of our beliefs to everyday life however.

I'm an atheist and have been for a few years, but found myself in between religious affiliation and my disbelief for many years. But this isn't a blog about my story of becoming an atheist, it's simply the topic of religion itself. That being said, please continue to read along.

I figured this would be a good topic to discuss, seeing that many people believe Judgement day is just around the corner. They strongly believe that we'll all be judged on May 21st 2011 for our wrong doings or our good deeds. I don't know about you, but I feel this is a ridiculous assumption. Where's the fact for that? Even a Christian named Kenneth Lewis said it's not written anywhere in the bible he follows. Hopefully though, people will take this time to do a lot of good things for each other. My only fear is that when the said date passes, people will go back to their old habits of judging others based on things they can't control and continue to thrive on greed and inhumanity. I'm not sure if it's a specific religion itself that believes this is true, but I've been seeing it around the internet for a couple of weeks. If anyone knows where this roots, please discuss in the comments.

To my knowledge, all religions have this one thing in common, their belief that the religion they follow, is the only true religion, or that their god is the only true deity. Says who? Why can't there be more than one way of living?

We know that many wars in history have quite possibly been rooted due to the cause of religious disagreement. Religion has been around for many many era's, and possibly for longer than we know of. People have always disagreed and will always disagree on religion and many other topics. Sometimes this causes hatred, which can lead to war. I believe this is so, especially in the Middle East. Palestine and Israel will probably never agree on religion. For the wars we've seen with Israel, correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't all of them fought in the name of religion?

How many human beings have been murdered in the name of Religion?

Buddhism - Human Sacrifice 1850's
India Thuggee Murders - Sacrifices in the name of religion
Mountain Meadows Massacre - Utah, Mormons and Indians murdering emigrants from Arkansas
Witch Hunts - Massachusetts, 1600's

Need I go on? This isn't even including the things that happen these days with killings due to homosexuality, in the name of religion. I don't know about you, but religion is sounding pretty messy to me already.

Many people have turned to atheism these days, realizing that many of the things religions throw at you just simply don't make sense. Let us not argue the subject of religion. Everyone has different beliefs or disbelief, and not one single person is correct in the matter. Aren't we suppose to be equals? Let us respect one another regardless of belief or disbelief in something. I can think of no reason to force beliefs or disbelief on other beings. Everybody is different, and different lifestyles work for different people. All any of us really wants is to be happy. With that being said, let us love each other, regardless of our differences.

I could continue on about all the things I feel are wrong with religion, but I think I'll leave that to the internet. Religion is not a topic I'd like to spend too much time on, seeing as most of the internet is talking about it these days.

If you'd really like to learn more about theism and atheism, search for them on youtube, and thanks for reading!
